Job Summary
Kforce is seeking a Tax Manager in Annapolis, MD. This role involves managing income tax compliance, preparing tax provision analysis, overseeing income tax controversies, and actively participating in M&A tax strategy. Responsibilities:
- Manages income tax compliance function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of all federal, state, and local income tax returns
- Prepares or reviews monthly tax provision analysis, tax roll-forward schedules, cash tax forecast, quarterly estimated income tax payments, and other tax-related schedules
- Ownership of income tax controversy; Evaluate income tax audit exposures, develop and execute tax defense strategy, coordinate response to audit requests to federal, state, and regulatory authorities
- Active participation in M&A strategy discussion relating to pre-acquisition consideration, deal structure, valuation, due diligence review, integration, purchase price accounting and post-acquisition restructuring
- Supports income tax planning, including tax structure optimization and intercompany transfer pricing documents
- Monitors tax legislation updates and proactively analyzing and communicating impacts to business partners and management teams
- Assist tax processes efficiency and control improvement initiatives
- Manages the federal and state income tax credit initiatives: R&D, Electric Vehicles, WOTC, etc.
- Performs research to resolve tax questions/issues related to the business
- Coaches and develops team of Senior Analysts; Provides guidance and direction to the team as needed to meet the business needs
Requirements

- 7-9 years of experience in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department required
- Strong corporate federal, state, and local income tax accounting and compliance experience required
- Experience in performing tax research, providing audit responses, drafting tax memo/documents required
- Knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulatory and tax accounting
- Active CPA preferred
- Federal and state tax Consolidation and tax provision experience preferred
